Full-Time Student, Brain Surgery Survivor, and CEO Shares Invaluable Advice

Jordan Ray, Founder and CEO of Limitless Medical Logs®️, juggles running a business while being a full-time college student. On top of that, she also manages her rare health condition, Chiari Malformation

Jordan Ray’s dreams of becoming a collegiate athlete started at the young age of 5. Throughout Jordan’s successful career,  she started being recruited by multiple universities. But, everything she knew changed in an instant when she unexpectedly blacked out on the softball field at 17 years old. This blackout ended her 13 year athletic career and led to a strenuous 8 hour brain surgery. Instead of feeling sorrow for herself, she was motivated to create her current business, Limitless Medical Logs®️, to provide a health management tool for other individuals, like herself, to find security and control when it comes to managing their health.

Jordan’s grit and determination help her manage her health condition while running a successful business and attending college.

She often credits her time management to her 13 year athletic career. But, the hardest part about running a business & being a full time student is that she has to also manage a debilitating health condition. Jordan suffers from numerous migraines a week, which makes it hard for her to focus and stay on task from the unbearable pain. Some days are more challenging than others, but she still aims to set as much time as possible to both her business, as well as her education to achieve short and long term goals for both.

As a college student, Jordan is studying business, so when she’s in class she can help her fellow peers by answering their questions or giving them real life stories about what’s happening in her business. For example, she recently had to do a sales pitch for a select product in her public speaking class and she chose to pitch her company.  While the professor allowed for a few questions, all 35 students raised their hands with multiple questions. In short, the reward is that she’s able to apply what she’s learned from her business and apply it to her education, while helping her peers understand and see it through a more personal lens.

Unlike many of her peers, Jordan had to grow up and mature faster given medical needs and her health journey. Jordan often says that if she could go back and tell her younger, 17-year-old self one piece of advice, it would definitely be to just enjoy the process more. It took her 2 years to realize how important this really is. Now in her early-twenties, she sees the value and is sharing it with others.

“Also, a win isn’t defined by the magnitude of it. A win is always a win, whether it be small or large, while working towards a major goal,” said Jordan.

Jordan’s perseverance, dedication, and hard work are the backbone to her success as she continues to seamlessly accomplish any task given to her. It is not easy to balance running a business, being a college student, and managing a health condition as these could all be full time jobs on their own. But, Jordan looks at the bigger picture in order to keep her motivation and determination high.
